Welcome to Samurai Sharpening! We opened in 2009 as Sir Scissor and now specialise in Japanese style wet sharpening, giving you a factory quality finish and correct cutting angles. Drawing inspiration from the unwavering discipline and precision of the ancient Japanese Samurai, Samurai Sharpening revives the essence of razor-sharpness right at your doorstep. Based on the Sunshine Coast, we come to you with mobile services and competitive pricing throughout South-East Queensland.

We sharpen all scissors including left and right handed, hair scissors, dressmaking scissors, thinners and texturises. We also sharpen knives including kitchen knives, chef knives, paring, slicing, pocket and hunting knives as well as cleavers, pruning shears, axes, pizza cutters and more. Not only that, we are experienced in servicing hair clippers and trimmers, providing various repairs and supplying and installing new blades.

How We Got Our Start

I used to live across the road from an older guy who was full time sharpening out of his van. Sometimes on the weekend I would go over and watch. I was fascinated by the finish and sharpness, and one day I said " I feel I could do that really well."

Just by chance, he had an area which was vacant and could put me into. Initially I spent two months training and would then go around with him to hairdressers and barbers. Since opening in 2009, we have become masters of our craft. Our commitment to quality products and our unique style of sharpening brings customers to order our services time and time again.
